December 11, 2019, BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops today announced that the organization will donate $2,000 to FeedMore WNY through Food 2 Families, an annual food drive sponsored in part by Tops Markets. This donation is possible thanks to the Taste of Buffalo's participating restaurants and the purchases of festival-goers at the event last July.

“As a nonprofit organization with a passion for food, we're grateful for this opportunity to help fight hunger in our community and contribute toward providing meals for those who need a helping hand," said 2019 Taste of Buffalo Chair Matt Testa.

To date, the Taste has donated more than $538,000 back to the community. In addition to charitable donations made by the outgoing chair each year after all expenses are paid, the Taste partners with select non-profits to staff ticket and beverage tents with volunteers in return for a donation. The festival also awards five annual $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing a culinary or hospitality-related degree.

FeedMore WNY is the consolidation of the FoodBank of WNY and Meals on Wheels. Their mission is to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to our Western New York neighbors in need. In any given month, their Food Bank program assists as many as 129,000 individuals through 300 agencies and programs throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties.
