Chef Marc Forgione to Visit Taste of Buffalo on July 7

Iron Chef on Food Network's "Iron Chef America" to Host Live Cooking Demonstration, Sign Books

June 12, 2018, BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Taste of Buffalo presented by TOPS today announced that Chef Marc Forgione will appear at the festival for a live cooking demonstration on Saturday, July 7 at 12 p.m. One of the Iron Chefs on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America,” Forgione is also a restaurateur and cookbook author.

Presented by Fisher & Paykel and Artisan Kitchens & Baths, the demonstration will take place on the Taste of Buffalo Culinary Stage in the New Era Cap parking lot at 160 Delaware Avenue. Chef will prepare Chili Lobster on Texas Toast and Kona Kampachi Tartare with Avocado Mousse, featuring sashimi-grade fish with a clean, rich, slightly nutty flavor. Guests will be able to sample the dishes while supplies last. Chef will also sign copies of his book, “Marc Forgione, Recipes and stories from the Acclaimed Chef,” which will be available to purchase at the Culinary Stage.

“With a modern twist on fine dining, Marc Forgione has earned widespread acclaim and a stellar reputation for amazing food,” said Rich McDermott, 2018 Taste of Buffalo Chair. “Taste guests can look forward to watching his artful food presentations come to life, listening to stories about his time as an Iron Chef, and tasting a few of his signature recipes.”

Forgione is the chef/owner of Restaurant Marc Forgione in New York City and American Cut in New York City and Atlanta. He is also partner at Khe-Yo in New York City

Celebrating its 35th birthday this year, the Taste of Buffalo is the nation’s largest two-day food festival showcasing the delicious tastes, delectable smells, sights, and sounds of the city it calls home – Buffalo, N.Y. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 8 along Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, beginning at Johnson Park and heading south around Niagara Square to West Eagle.

Fifty-three locally owned restaurants and food trucks will be featured, along with unique craft beers, New York State wines, live music, family-friendly entertainment, and much more.

Admission to the Taste of Buffalo is free. Food items range in price from 2 to 10 tickets. Food tickets are sold in $5 sheets and each food ticket is valued at fifty cents. Cash, Visa and Mastercard are accepted at any of the ticket tents during the Taste. The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is the nation's largest two-day food festival, attracting more than 450,000 people to Buffalo each year. The 35th annual Taste will take place on July 7 and 8, 2018 along Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo. The Taste is a not-for-profit organization with more than 1,000 volunteers helping to put on the annual event. Each year, the Taste allocates funds to support the community through donations to local charities.
