The Taste Culinary Stage is located under a cool tent in the New Era Cap parking lot and highlights the best in local culinary talent. Get up close and personal with the finest chefs, artisans and mixologists in Buffalo as you watch their cooking demos and competitions. Seating is free and first-come, first served. Meet the popular Celery, Blue Cheese and Chicken Wing mascots from the Buffalo Bisons at the entrance of the Culinary Stage from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday.

Cannoli Competition

It's an age old question, "who makes the best cannoli?" Come join us and get a first row seat to witness this battle royale between Linda Schultz & Amber Milligan of Romanos Bakery, and brothers Gaetano & Luca Letizia of Gelateria Luca. Judges include Chef Anne Piorkowski of the Russell J Salvatore School of Hospitality at Trocaire College, Nina Barone of Buffalo Spree, Michael Chelus of Nittany Epicurean, and YOU, a member of our audience. There will be mini cannolis for our audience members.

Finally, Kevin will announce the winners of the Taste of Buffalo, New York State wine competition. Please join us for this exciting wine experience!

Grill Master Competition

This time we are turning the tables! Do not miss this epic battle starring foodies Scotty Harris and Tom Przybylak. They will battle it out in a 45 minute intense competition where they will have to cook 2 proteins, a starch and a vegetable using the Big Green Egg. They will bring on the heat! Judges include Andrew Galarneau of the Buffalo News, Jeff Biesinger of Buffalo Spree, Donnie Burtless of Buffalo Eats, and one lucky audience member.

Juicin' it Up!

 With all the fad diets and supplements out there, sometimes it's hard to differentiate what is beneficial to our health and what is just bogus. Come join us and listen to Eric Gersbacher of Ashkers explain and discuss the process and benefits of juicing. He will be introducing our audience to "cold press" juicing and how it is different than other methods. Sit back, ask questions and enjoy a sample of Ashkers fresh cold press juice brought to you at your seat by the Independent Health RedShirts.

The Mac Off

Chef DJ Cook of Shango Bistro & Wine Bar, and Falynn Koch of Fallymac go head to head in a Mac and Cheese cook off, come and witness these talented cooks battle it out in a competition for the best Mac and Cheese title. The catch is, they will have to make the mac in the Big Green Egg! Judges include Lauren Newkirk of Buffalo Spree, Chef Frank Mercado of the M&T Executive Dining Room, Ben Tsujimoto of Buffalo.com and one very lucky audience member.

When it comes to home brewing and beer making in general, Ethan Cox, owner of Community Beer Works is an authority. Do not miss this opportunity to watch him go over all the ins and out of brewing your own beer. Audience interaction and questions are encouraged.

Cooking with Beer

After you hear how to make your beer, you can learn how to cook with it! Chef Frank Mercado, an avid homebrewer himself, will be demonstrating  a few easy and delicious recipes that list beer as a main ingredient. We will be featuring brews by Community Beer Works, all available for purchase at their brewery. 

 5:45PM - 6:30PM

Lockhouse Vodka Summer Cocktail Competition

This one will be for the books, Kerry Quaile of Queen City Shaken & Stirred, and Adam Smith from Cantina Loco will go head to head to see whose cocktail reigns supreme. The competitors will have 30 minutes to juice, shake, stir their concoction using Lockhouse Vodka as the main spirit. Judges include Niko Georgiadis & Chad Vosseller of Lockhouse Vodka, Adam Zyglis, Editorial Cartoonist at the Buffalo News, and Jonathan Oakes of Leonard Oakes Winery.
